SHELLI HERMAN, PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Last year we made a conscious decision to make sure that every child had the opportunity to grow and learn. This was very important to us. So, in 2017, we begin our program, Bright Stars. This program will be focused on providing artistic training for Special Needs children. Shelli Herman will be heading this program. She is working on her second masters in special needs education, and is currently teaching Special Needs in Glen Ullin, ND.
Shelli Herman was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota and graduated from Bismarck High School. She holds a BFA in Acting and an MA in theatre from the University of North Dakota. Shelli has also earned her teaching credentials from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix and is currently working on her Master of Education as a Special Education Strategist at the University of Mary. As an actress, she has played such roles as Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, and Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show. As a director, Shelli has directed in area schools, at the community theatre level, and started her own theatre company in Fargo, Tin Roof Theatre. She has directed such shows as The Sound of Music, Into the Woods, The King and I, and Master Class. Shelli is the mother to two daughters, Abigail and Bronwyn. In her spare-time she enjoys singing, acting and studying for her second Masters’ degree. She has been a classroom teacher for a decade and works with students of all ages. Shelli is new to our program this year and is excited to be working on our new program
